The Presence (Organ interlude from Cuthbert) (Organ Part)

The Presence was the first organ interlude in the 1993 version of Saint Cuthbert which was originally called Cuthbert of Northumbria.

This movement occurs at a point in the oratorio which reflects on the magnitude of God’s creation. Like a number of my pieces based on stories from my native North East of England this music absorbs and reflects much of my early experiences of English church music, particularly choral and organ music.
