Other info: On This Night is a new lyric to a commission from 2019 of a three movement choral and big band work Praise All Things Choral Suite written for Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church in Texas. The original 2nd movement was a setting of Psalm 150. Will Todd says:
"I have created an alternative Christmas lyric for this piece as a stand-alone for my album All Will Be Well. The glowing jazzy melody inspired the lyrics celebrating the Christmas message"
On this night of God’s miracle See a manger bed, and a child in Mary’s arms. Born into a humble place, born into a sorrowing world, A saviour to redeem us all by his birth. All night I’m singing alleluia My heart is filled with alleluia Kneel down and worship the Christ-child on this night. See the shepherds who have come to him, See their wonder as they gaze upon the Lord. May I be a shepherd too, bowing to an infant king And coming to a stable filled with heavenly light? All night I’m singing alleluia… Will you hold me Lord, forever, May you always be beside me through my days? So that I may come at last into the house of God And kneel with the Magi at the manger ?
