Other info:  Durham Jazz Evensong was commissioned by St Oswald’s Church, Durham, and first performed there at Evening Worship in October 2008. It was broadcast by the BBC from St Martin-in-the-Fields, London in 2009 as part of the choral evensong series.  Written for SATB with jazz trio, it includes additional parts for alto and soprano saxophones, trumpet, trombones and congas.

An early experimental studio version is available on the Requiem recording, although the score has been revised since.  It has been recorded more recently by the Choir of St Martin-in-the-Fields and is included on the album Evensong in Blue.

The Psalms for the Durham Jazz Evensong are not included in this product.  Please visit the Durham Jazz Psalms page for more information and to order or download.

Recent revisions of the vocal score mean that the Magnificat is now the version heard on the original experimental studio version included on the Requiem recording. All other movements are as they appear on the Evensong in Blue recording.
