Choral Jazz

Will Todd spent his formative years steeped in both jazz and the English choral tradition.  In his choral jazz music he is able to juxtapose strong rhythmic drive and rich harmonies with exquisitely lyrical vocal lines.

Todd’s flagship choral jazz work is Mass in Blue which has been performed all over the world.  Recent additions to the jazz choral catalogue include his Jazz Missa Brevis, Footprints Choral Suite and Songs of Peace to name but a few.  His innovative Jazz Carols are featured regularly in choral christmas concerts.

His arrangement of Amazing Grace has become a firm favourite with choirs in the UK and the USA (it was featured in the 2012 inauguration service of President Barack Obama) and there are a number of excellent hymn arrangements for choir and jazz ensemble including Come Down O Love Divine, Give Me Joy in my Heart and O When the Saints which were written as part of the Durham Jazz Evensong.
