Will has recently been involved with a wonderful event for Bradford, the City of Culture for 2025!

In a huge collaboration spanning multiple artistic forms, Will composed an hour long theatre work inspired by the words and ideas of local school children. He worked with Opera North, The Royal Ballet and Opera, Northern Ballet, Stage84, Primary and Secondary schools of the Bradford area.

Poet Khadijah Ibrahiim, Indian classical musician Eeshar Singh and a host of other creatives including director Kirsty Tapp, choreographer Carlos Pons Guerra and designer Hannah Sibai also helped bring this monumental work together.

This all culminated on the 18th of June with a magical performance at Bradford Live with over 2000 young children alongside professional performers, including dancer Tom Whitehead, opera singer April Koyejo-Audiger, and actor/singer Meg Elsewood. The reaction of both the young performers and audience was ecstatic, inspiring the younger generation to take part in dance and music.

“In a sense, we could expect them to do great performances of Puccini or of The Nutcracker,” he says. “But can they go out and inspire ordinary people to participate, to be energised, to sing and dance? To me actually that’s the apex of what they can do, so it thrills me that they’re here doing this.”

Those with a keen eye will also spot Will here meeting the King and Queen when they visited Bradford in the run up to the performance. The royalty were certainly impressed by the children rehearsing and wished everyone good luck!
