The Bradford Festival Choral Society are holding an afternoon vocal workshop on Will Todd's MASS IN BLUE.
In an informal and relaxed atmosphere, choral expert and BFCS Musical Director Thomas Leech will take us through Will Todd’s modern masterpiece with Assistant Musical Director, talented pianist and vocal coach Christopher Pulleyn.
“Mass in Blue” is a breathtaking fusion of classical choral music with the vibrant and electrifying sounds of jazz. Composed by Will Todd, this unique and dynamic piece will sweep you off your feet with its rhythmic energy and expressive vocal arrangements.
Whether you’re a seasoned singer or have only just discovered your voice, this event is open to all! If you’re passionate about singing and want to be part of an extraordinary ensemble, then this is the perfect opportunity for you. Experience the joy of singing alongside fellow music enthusiasts and under the skilled guidance of our exceptional musical team.
We are excited to be hosting this event at Fountains Church, which was recently re-developed from 4 nightclubs overlooking City Park and nestled between the Alhambra Theatre and the Media Museum. It is a modern and comfortable building with great wheelchair access.
We will be using the Oxford University Press version which will be available to borrow on the day, but feel free to bring your copy if you have one.
Some basic music-reading ability and a little choral experience will help you get the most out of the afternoon but isn’t essential.
We’ll perform it all at 6pm with a professional soprano soloist.
Refreshments will be available and we will have a light buffet in our 5-6pm break. Donations welcomed.
