The Vivace Chorus perform Will Todd’s Mass in Blue with the Will Todd Ensemble and the Santiago String Quartet.
Conducted by Jeremy Backhouse.
There’s plenty to get your hips swaying in our sultry Latin-American and jazz concert at GLive this November. We’ll be singing Mass in Blue by acclaimed international composer, Will Todd. This has fast become one of the most popular modern choral works around the world, and we’re delighted to be joined by Latin-American music specialists, the Santiago Quartet, international bandoneon player Julian Rowlands and Tango bass player Tom Mason for this, and our other programmed work, Misatango by Palmeri. And if that’s not exciting enough, there will be live Tango dancing from duo Richard Manuel and Paula Duarte, who performed in Guildford to huge acclaim in the 2018 Spring Music Festival.
Vivace Chorus with:
Will Todd Ensemble (Hilary Cronin – Soprano, Paul Jones – Saxaphone, Gareth Huw Davies – Double-bass, James Fleeman – Drums, Will Todd – Piano)
Santiago String Quartet (Rowan Bell – Violin 1, Johanna McWeeney – Violin 2, Cressida Wislocki – Viola, Jonathan Hennessey-Brown – Cello, augmented by Francis Pott – Piano, Julian Rowlands – Bandoneon, Tom Mason – Double Bass). Dancing performed by Paula Duarte and Richard Manuel.
