Teapot Summer School 14–23 January 2022

with Conductor Isaac Stone

Programme ‘Tour of Europe from Teapot’

We may be unable to see the world right now, but you can experience the sounds of the north at Teapot Summer School. 2022’s repertoire celebrates the many colours of European languages, with uplifting settings of beautiful poetry.

The big and bold Polovtsian Dances by Borodin and the patriotism of the Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves by Verdi are balanced with the pensive Blue Bird by Stanford, the yearning of Brahm’s Der Gang Zum Liebchen and the wistful Dirait-on by Lauridsen.

The centrepiece will be the show-stopping Mass In Blue by English composer Will Todd, which seamlessly mixes the jazz and classical idioms in a setting that is at once heartfelt and explosive.”

Here is the 2022 programme:

Will Todd –  Mass in Blue

Morten Lauridsen  – Dirait-on

Charles Stanford  – The Blue Bird

Johannes Brahms  – Der Gang Zum Liebchen

Giuseppe Verdi  – Va Pensiero from Nabucco

Alexander Borodin  – Polovtsian Dances from Prince Igor
