The music of Will Todd
Will Todd’s music encompasses a wide range of musical styles and genres – from jazz to contemporary liturgical music, opera, musical theatre and orchestral music.
Will Todd is perhaps best known for his choral works, which range from large scale oratorios such as Ode to a Nightingale to smaller classic choral pieces such as The Call of Wisdom.
However it is his choral works which so uniquely combine his jazz expertise and choral style that continue to reach new audiences. His flagship work Mass in Blue is performed all over the world and his new works in the same jazz choral idiom are fast earning their place in the choral repertoire.
Will Todd’s sucessful theatre works include the operas Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland (2013) and The Blackened Man(2004) as well as the compelling music theatre work The Screams of Kitty Genovese.
Will Todd has also written several concertos, most recently Clarinet Concerto, commissioned for clarinettist Emma Johnson and recorded by the BBC Concert Orchestra.
Will Todd’s music is published by Boosey and Hawes, Oxford University Press and Tyalgum Press. All of Will Todd’s current catalogue of sheet music and recordings are available through our shop. We hope you enjoy exploring the website and finding out more.
