My Lord Has Come to be broadcast worldwide on December 11th as one of the Final 24 carols to feature in the ORA Singers musical Advent Calendar
ORA founder and artistic director Suzi Digby says:
‘Choral music is for life, not just for Christmas, and this is too good an opportunity to miss – 24 days to introduce and remind listeners of the stunning range of contemporary carols out there. We hope these will be the soundtrack of Christmases hence.’
To celebrate each day of Advent, ORA have selected and recorded a collection of seasonal carols, reflecting the best and most spell-binding choral music of today. Throughout the month of December the Advent Calendar, available on the ensemble’s website, will reveal one track a day until the official release on the 24th of December. The entire album will be available to download and stream from Harmonia Mundi at the end of the year.
The collection includes carols by Sally Beamish, Richard Allain, Morten Lauridsen, Cecilia McDowall and Arvo Pärt, and to bookend the calendar, ORA has commissioned works from John Rutter and Debbie Wiseman for 1 and 24 December respectively.
